Witness of the Warriors
Real words from real men who experienced the mission firsthand.
Think about the connection, vulnerability, safety, and challenge. Did your group show up for each other? Was it deep, or surface-level?
Deep. The hour flew by. Loved it!! I liked the diversity at our table. Everyone had a different perspective because of the age gap. Created good connections. Great group! Allowed fair time to share. The table lead was excellent. We were there and supportive through difficult discussions. Made great connections with the people in my squad and enjoyed everything they came to offer. We connected well. Of course one liked to talk more than others. I took a piece from each of them. Made a friend for life in my group, someone that I will use as a should or ear in life
Look at the weekend as a whole. How did it land for you — spiritually, emotionally, logistically? What stood out most or fell short?
Blessed to experience men of God searching for a deeper walk with Christ. I feel more alive, aware, and renewed in my faith. All of the above. It brought me to view things in a way I never saw before. Overall it was great. Came in as a skeptic and left in tears of happiness.
Feedback on the Fireside Father/Son Blessing Ceremony
It was truly meaningful cuz I had privilege of blessing my grandson Ethan Amstutz. It was Amazing to see fathers, older spiritual brothers, and grandfathers speak blessings over their sons and brothers; it was so organic and so rich with vision, encouragement, reassurance of support. How could I not walk away moved. Absolutely AMAZING! It was cool hearing what my dad had to say about me. Well done
What’s your next move? What changes are you planning to make in your heart, your habits, or your relationships?
Extremely limited my alcohol consumption, be the lover and provider my wife needs, and I hope to remove selfish acts and requiring my own time. Making time for my family. Not waiting for conversation to start but to bring the conversation out and up front Pick my walk with God back up Carry this momentum on, share with others Consistent recurrent action in my interpersonal relationships. Making sure I check in with friends and family regularly to keep those lines open. Then, making sure I’m finding new guys I don’t know to keep sharing the gospel.
What part(s) of Boot Camp had the strongest impact on you?
The tables were incredible and the relationships built and experiences of each other. Excellent!! Camp fire had good conversation and lets people interact more. I was reserved and wasn’t sure what or how to share. I had to just let go and let God lead me to share and let others see the deepest wounds in my heart.
