Josh Hiestand: 48 years old.
Occupation: Retired First Sargeant in the Army after 22 years.
Married to: Natalie
How did you get involved with BoB? Band of Brothers Board Chairman, Jack Wickham, invited me to participate in the summer of 2025.
Why did you keep coming back? My wife (Natalie) and I were receiving secular marital counseling at the time. When I came to Band of Brothers and heard the lessons on “Empathy,” it started to transform me. I began implementing what I was learning into my marriage. Natalie noticed it right away and things began to get a lot better between us. In the short period of time (one-year) that I’ve been involved with BoB, God has used it to transform my marriage more than the previous 20 years of secular counseling we’ve received.
Tell us about your transformation in Christ: I was a “religious” man prior to Band of Brothers. Through BoB, I realized that Christianity is about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and becoming a disciple of Christ. I became "born-again” like it says in John chapter 3.
Tell us about your 4P Discipleship experience: I learned a lot through the 29-weeks of discipleship training in “The Four Priorities” book. The 4P’s book has the capability of reaching anyone, no matter where they are in their spiritual journey, and propelling them forward in their faith. It’s great for non-Christians, new Christians, and Christians that are looking to mature and become disciples of Christ.
What was the impact on your marriage? Christ has used Band of Brothers to help transform me personally and my marriage. Before BoB, my wife and I were living like roommates. God has used BoB to transform our relationship into a real marriage.
What was the impact of Boot Camp? Boot Camp was POWERFUL and exceeded my expectations! It helped me become a better man in so many areas of life: as a husband, father, follower of Jesus, everything.
